FOUNDATIONS

‘For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, not powers, not height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.’ Romans 8:38-39

…once upon a time in New Zealand, everywhere they built Churches…

SUFFERING

Job was a man who suffered more trouble than most, and his name has become a synonym for suffering, but in the middle of his troubles, and a few hundred years before Christ walked this earth, this was his statement…

‘For I know that my Redeemer lives, and that at the last he will stand upon the earth; and after my skin has been destroyed, then in my flesh I shall see God’

A promise fulfilled, and yet to come.

THIS EARTH…

The King of Glory

A Psalm of David.

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
For he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Sela

Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah

SUNDAY VERSES

We cannot say that Jesus was either simply a good man or a prophet. Jesus himself claimed his rightful status as God, and this was the reason he was crucified…

So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.  From John 8:57-59

“The Father and I are one.” The Jews took up stones again to stone Him.  from John 10:30

They tried to stone Him because with those words ‘I Am’ He was clearly claiming to be God.So we can reject Him or accept Him, but we cannot ignore Him. For all of us He carried the cross…

A CREED FOR CREATION

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.
Amen.

…a great statement of faith.
